98 sentra starter problems. Where is it?

i have a 98 sentra automatic transmission and i think the starter needs to be replaced. I want to take it out and go get it tested at the parts store. Ive tried jumping it and it dont start but when the key is turned it makes a light screeching sound when turning over. I just would like to know how to get to the starter.

  1. Follow the main cable from the positive side of the battery. It will end up on the starter. I am not sure but I think it might be between the engine and the flywheel.


  2. Will S, it could be a loose nut between the steering wheel and the driver's seat.  ; ) .

    To start, pop the hood. You might want to have someone show you in person.
