Question:

9800 GTX vs 8800 GT in SLI?

I was wondering. An EVGA 9800 GTX, with 512 MB of memory, in 3 way SLI, versus an EVGA 8800 GT 1GB memory in 2 way sli, which would come out the victor? 2 Way or 3 Way?

And, just to make sure I'm not mistaken, 3 way sli isn't possible on 8800 GT's, right?

Thanks!

  1. i've never heard of 3 way sli with a 8800 gt to be honest. and 9800 3 way would be alot better. heck 2 way is enough. but you have to make sure ur powersupply can handle it and sli/xfire could give you some problems so watch out. i'm not saying its c**p or anything but sli/xfire has some bugs and problems with some people.

  2. Of course the 3 way. There is no competition. 3 way with a current generation versus 2 way with an older generation. Use common sense here and think about it.

  3. 1 I'd say the 9800 in 3 way SLI is the winner.

2 I have 3 way sli with 3 8800GTs. Your motherboard has to support 3 way sli, which mine does...an eVGA 780i SLI...
