99 Grand prix with power and starting problems

Question

I own a 99' grand prix and for some time now the throttle has been giving me problems. When I press the gas, it feels like the car has no pick up and is not getting the gas required. But, now to add to the problem, the car gives me trouble starting. This might be pure coincidence but the problem with the gas seemed to start after I cleaned out the throttle body. I’m thinking perhaps it may have to do with the job I did because I didn’t take the throttle body completely off. I simply took apart what I could and with throttle body spray and a paper towel I cleaned out what I could. My second guess would be that I did something to the vacuum lines and now it’s leaking. My third and worst case scenario guess would be that the fuel pump is going bad. At least that’s what the dealer over the phone suggested but when I asked how common that was, he said not really common at all. So, now I ask you, what do you suggest it could be?

could be the mass air flow sensor, has similar conditions. I have a 99 GP and had to replace mine.

redo your mainatian job pay close attition  to what you are doing sounds likes you messed something up. thats the way we learn trial error better than school.

change the gas filter and see if that helps.
