Question:

99 VW passat rear lighter fuse

I just discovered that the rear lighter ( the one in the trunk ) of my 99 passat is on a different fuse from the front one. After an hour starring at the fuse box diagram I have no idea which is the fuse. The front one I found easily.

So my question is where to find the fuse for the back lighter (it it is in the fuse box please specify number). Is there a possibility the lighter to be connected directly to the battery without a fuse?

Thank you!

  1. I don't remember off the top of my head but i think its wired with the cig lighter for the rear passengers on the center console.  The fuse your looking for is located under your lower dash board cover on the drivers side.  To remove the cover you have to remove 4 or 5 torx head screws (T-20 or T-25 i don't remember) 2 are on the side you can see them when you remove the side cover for the fuse panel and the others are deep in the pockets of the cover.

The fuse is on top of the relay box the are only 2 fuses there 1 for the cig lighter and the other for the brake booster pump. Hope this helps good luck.

  2. you should be able to find your fuses at your dealer....
