  1. Hello,

    It's not the door latch, but the door switch.  It's not a "quick" fix, as you have to work in a confined space to remove the door latch assembly and assorted actuator rods, but it's something the mechanically inclined can do.

    If you have power locks, you'll want to be sure you're given the correct switch (this is from experience).  There are switches out there that were not manufactured correctly.  The switch is held in place on the latch assembly by a metal tab located adjacent the power connection. If the tab and the power connection are inline (12 o'clock / 6 o'clock position) , it won't work as you need to rotate the switch into place and avoid hitting the power lock actuator with the power connection - something the engineers apparently overlooked.

    The metal tab and power connection need to be offset.  Looking at the switch with the metal locking tab at top, the electrical connection should be pointing off in the 2 o'clock (or 10 o'clock depended on which way you're facing) position.

    Took me about an hour to do, but it was worth it.  Only cost was about $20 for the switch....
