99 windstar when the vehicle is shut off it pushes power steering fluid out of the reservoir eventually pushing all of the fluid out.

What would cause this? is it the pump itself or is it the steering rack?

No it isn't overfilled

  1. air in the system.. os if you have not had it a part then good its stoped up some way

  2. Power stearing cooling exchange,is clogged;

    The car always gets hotter after eng.is turned off;

  3. What would cause that?  Turning the steering wheel while the car is off is what causes that.

    Nearly all Fords and many other makes do that.  I see that all the time in my shop (where sometimes vehicles don't start and we have to push them).  You shouldn't have to make a habit of that for daily use though.
