99 zx9r choke problems?

I recently cleaned the carbs on my bike. Since then my choke as not worked properley. The choke is connect properly and cables operate correctly. I can start the bike on a warm day and manully pull the choke plunger out, it does nothing to the bike, it doent idle any different or rev any higher. When I cleaned the carb i only took the bowls off and pulled the main jet. How could this affect the choke?

Ah, I misdoubt that you connected it to the butterfly? The choke does not cover the airway of the carbs. If you block the carbs at 90%, you'll get a choke effect.
