it ran good with old points and condenser, i put a new electronic ignition and new coil on it now I'm not getting any spark to the plugs or from the coil, do you wired the battery to the coil or do you just wired a switch to it also there are resisters that start smoking when i hook the switch up how do you know if you are wired for a 12 volt

  1. If you have smoking stuff something is shorted out pretty badly. You really should seek out an equipment tech.

You could run the risk of burning up your new parts if you aren't careful.

You don't wire the battery to the coil. It goes from the switch to the coil. This isn't something that can't be wired in and modified by simply adding parts. It has to be reworked in some way.

You are wired for 12 volt if you have a 12 volt battery.
