9th grade Geometry question about Angles?!?

Can you answer this for me please? I'm sooo confused & my book doesn't help me :(

"The measure of an angle's supplement is 44 less than the measure of the angle. Find the measure of the angle and its supplement."

due tomorrow! 10 points for answer&work shown!!! (:

  1. The angle is a; its supplement is 180 -a; the equation is:

    180 - a = a - 44

         224 = 2a

             a = 112

    So the angle is 112 and its supplement is 68 (which is 44 less).
