9v Rayovac Battery gets really hot in my pocket???!!?

I had it in my pants pocket for about 10 minutes and out of nowhere i feel it burning me..and it wasnt getting used before I put it in my pocket..i found it in a draw..then I put it in my pocket.

Probably something metallic in your pocket (maybe a coin?) shorting the battery out.

I wouldn't EVER advise keeping loose batteries in your pocket, especially if they're rechargeable (they can get very hot if shorted) and especially if they're 9v (they're very easy to short out).

A shorted battery may also be liable to leak or even explode. Seriously, it's a VERY bad idea to put loose batteries in your pocket.
