  1. the solution would be dilute H2SO4

    Mg+H2SO4----------MgSO4+H2

hydrogen gas is a good combustible gas and by rapid burning gives pop sound and magnesium can displace H2 gas from dil acids like H2SO4 HNO3 etc

  2. D

  3. The 'pop' sound is typical of Hydrogen.

The only options containing Hydrogen is Calcium Hydroxide and Sulphuric Acid.

Sulfuric Acid reacts with Mg as shown:

    H2SO4 + Mg = MgSO4 + H2

resulting in Hydrogen gas being given off.

    Hence D is the answer.

  4. the answer is D

The gas which gives a 'pop' sound is hydrogen gas. A metal will react with acid to produce hydrogen gas. The only acidic solution in the answer is sulphuric acid making it the correct answer.
