  1. no...planes r much better juss try to sleep but i cnt ever sleep so i juss use mii entertainment things...but u shud b good oo n for the ear popping...bring gum nd chew it

  2. Yes, this is a very long flight. You need to drink plenty of water. get up and walk  around every couple of hours. If you drink enough water this won't be a problem LOL.Motion sickness has issues. You can take a pill, for this, but, I think you just need to move around some for your blood to pump thru your legs.

But, you sound like you are scared. That is normal. You are handing over control of your life to a bunch of strangers. Just take the flight with the professional approach. This is a displined and thoughtful outlook that will allow you to analyze the problems and find reasonable solutions.  Praying helps some people. I try to sleep and read on the long flights.I still get a raw nerve sometimes during the bumpy parts. Normally I try to calm others when I can this seems to help me also.

  3. I get bad air sickness and get dizzy, maybe even panicked. I took a really long flight to Japan and honestly, I had to take motion sickness pills (like Dramamine) and take a few shots of vodka so I'd pass out and sleep for most of it. I don't think I would have made it if I wasn't "sedated" personally.

  4. I dont think it will do any major damage otherwise they wouldnt allow you to fly that long. But 17 hours? how are you going to cope with that? I just about lasted 5 and a half lol.

  5. You may have a bit of jet lag (be tired), but you''ll be fine.  If your ears feel like they need to pop, a big yawn will help. Bring a couple of magazines, a good book, your ipod, some sodoku or crossword puzzles.  Youll be fine.

  6. 17 hour flight is not a pain to some people

if you go in economy, and the seats are small, you might get kind of uncomfortable and want to get up and walk around(you can when you are in the back(where its close to the restrooms)

<some planes have personal tv screens for the economy class, you just have to ask them to make sure>

if you go in business class, then the seat is big and comfortable and it wont be such a pain when you can watch movies and shows on your personal tv! or you can choose to just sleep until the stewardests call you for meals.

if you go in first class. i think youll have a great time. with the good food, and comfy chairs!

*your ears wont be screwed up. it is only during landing and take-off because of air pressure. but if your stable and the planes above ground flying. you wont feel a thing.

(but if you have sensitive ears. try yawning. and you hear your ears pop.)trust me it helps

*you wont get dizzy when you are on a plane. trains are different because they turn and go along the ground, not the sky.

    good luck!!

  7. Yes it will be awful. Sorry that doesn't erase your fears. Where are you flying to?

  8. its probably just from not being use d to it but ur ok

  9. it just depends on the person...i know for me a two hour plane ride doesnt bother me....but when i took a plane ride from louisiana to europe...i had trouble with my ears...and plus when we got there we had lost so  many hours from going through the time zones that i was really tired.....

just take some medicine and try to sleep....and chew gum that will help, plus with that long of a flight make sure u eat enough..bring snacks

  10. You need some sleeping pills. or pain killers and alcohol. Hopefully you live in America, so the pills will be easy to get.

  11. You won't be dizzy. You will just be going crazy. You will just be bored out of your mind. Bring everything you can. Its just like sitting there forever with an occasional bump. Pray you get tons of airpockets, thats the only excitement.

    No dizzyness, just totally restless

  12. Ive been on a 15 and it was horrible, im not gonna lie .

The worst 15 hours ever, especially the 3 crying babies and horrible turbulons .

And, I cant sleep in planes.

but, the person beside me, slept the whole way, even through take off .

    haha .

depends what kind of person you are .

  13. I've been on many long-distance flights and never suffered anything unusual. But I wouldn't want to do it again. If possible, try finding two seperate flights and take a day off in between...if possible...

  14. You wont get dizzy. But eat gum to prevent your ears from hurting. Enjoy the movie!

  15. Trains make turns and occasional stops.  It's normal to get off a train and feel dizzy.  Planes are smooth, very smooth, you should be fine getting off the plane.

  16. You're butt gets MAD sore. So get up and move around every now and then. Sleep. And to avoid the ear popping. Chew gum. make sure the gum is the kind you like though. Or, you're screwed! lol.

  17. You need to prepare in advance, take Aspirin 2 days before your flight. Cut your calories intake by half 2 days before your flight and cut all fat and oils before your flight.

Thick blood and being on a chair for 17 hours can lead to blood cloths or bad circulation.

So you want to thin your blood a bid before taking a flight.

BUT TALK WITH YOUR DOCTOR, DON'T JUST TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.

  18. NEXT SUNDAY I HAVE TO BE ON A 18 HOUR

    WHERE ARE YOU GOING

    BUT MY TIPS ARE IS

    HVE GUM.

    HAVE A LIL PAST TIME

    GET THE WINDOW SEAT

    TALK WITH YOUR SIBLINGS.

JUST THINK OF THE FUN YOUR GOING TO HAVE WHEN YOU ARRIVE TO YOUR DESTINATION

  19. you should be fine don't worrie just take some snacks with you and some gum you will need a whole pack to last you 17 hours.

Don't listen to Rubber Spock all you need to do to make sure you don't get a blood clot is get out of your seat and walk around a minute every like 4 hours

  20. Physically nothing bad will happen to you, but depending in what direction you will travel, you will cross several time zones and that's a problem with a lot of people.  It's 8:00 p.m. at your destination and your body thinks it's early morning, or it's 12:00 noon at your destination and even though you know it's noon, you're still ready to crash.

Your biggest problem will be jet lag, and that can take awhile to recover from.  I flew from Croatia to Netherlands with a layover in Netherlands before coming back to Detroit and I was screwed up for a month.  Just really sleepy.

Bring stuff to do, keep the iPod charged, get a good book and plan on relaxing.  Try to get some sleep in those great (snort) seats, you know, when you're sitting between the non-stop talker and the other person who is so large he spills into your seat.

  21. Hiya,

Well, I have been to florida 13 times, ( my family live there ) so have travelled on a plane many times. Thats a 8 hour journey!

Planes are really smooth once they are in the air, unlike trains.

During takeoff and landing, your ears may pop, but during the flight, the cabin pressure stays the same, so your ears will be fine for the full 17 hours.

If you take some mints to suck on during take off and landing (though mostly landing) you can prevent your ears from popping at all!

If you can handle 2 hours on a plane, im sure you will be fine!

It passes really quickly, with all the inflight entertainment now, and loads of film to watch, games to play and music to listen to, so dont worry about it!!

Trains are a bit didgy i find, they are too jerky!

    Hope this helps!

    x*x

  22. The only difference will be that you will be stiff, tired, and happier to get off!
