A 20 Ft Cuddy Cabin with no Port Windows?

can we Install small Port windows (4" X 12 ") in the hull below the rub Rail without compramising the integraty of the hull?

the window is stationary and is 1/4" thick with a aluminum frame. due to the body lines above the rub rail a window is not an option. any and all answers will be apreciated.

  1. Absolutely...bed them in polysulfide and forget it.

    Play with a template and tape to see if you want the windows to follow the sheer of the boat or sit level before cutting.

  2. sure, you could, but is it really worth the hassle..and potential problems...

    I would not....

    do you have a plexi, sun hatch.. or door made of dark plexi....?

  3. It depends on many factors. If it is a solid layup you probably can. If it is a core layup you can not. They are prone to leaks.

  4. i would be thinking in terms of a dead light porthole,anything going on the hull of your boat 20 ft.
