well, you should retake the sat. not because you didnt do well, but you always do much better the second time around- i got 200 pts more the second time i took it. a 3.9 is really good, so yea, you should be able to get into a college. it may not be the most competetive college, but you can get into a good one.

You should try out state schools. They're cheap and up to par in terms of educating for higher ed. You should also try good colleges that don't require the SAT. For example, Bates College is a very prestigious liberal arts college that doesn't require SAT. You should go to collegeconfidential.com forum and ask... or google for colleges that don't require SAT. One last thing, if you didn't do too well with the SAT, you should try the ACT.

Ouch that scores horrible! good grades might get you into your state uni, but try and raise that score, its a big red flag for colleges
