  1. A formal Intro, body, and conclusion is more of an essay than a short story, although, some type of convincing ending is probably necessary.

What situations might someone ask themself "Why didn't I live life to the fullest?"  What situation might cause someone extreme regret, and wish they had not made the choices they did?  Loss of life?  Near death?  Loss of a loved one?  A missed opportunity?

Tell a story of a person in that type of situation and how they came up with a new outlook on life.

  2. Everything depends on your academic requirements. If the story is meant for 16 -25 years, it would be appealing if the story revolves around the lifestyle, friends, mood swings ,family compulsion or future blues of youngsters.

The opening para should be catchy & well into an event or a decision already made. This will gradually be modified in the second paragraph by unexpected and unacceptable positive changes in the character's life (within a short span of time). By the end of the 2nd para, the character(s) should be convinced that the change is for the best. The 3rd paragraph will present a couple of events that will strengthen his/her conviction that the change IS going to brighten up the life forever.

Make sure the events, dialogs & locations suit the readers' age & expectations.

    Happy & meaningful Writing!
