A's general manager Billy Beane voted Sporting News Major League Baseball Executive of the Year
The Oakland Athletics’ are experiencing extraordinary successes this year. They finished a well crafted season along with a very good run towards post-season winning American League West title for the first time in six years.
On the other hand, now even after the season has ended, the Athletics’ are in the news especially their management who worked enormously hard to lead from the front in their team’s incredible accomplishment.
Billy Beane, the determined general manager of Oakland and the force behind the team, is the main subject of discussions these days in the media as his “sabermetrics” a statistical analysis, worked well for the A’s which is also bringing him so much respect in the league.
In addition to this so much admiration, Billy Beane has been voted the Sporting News Major League Baseball Executive of the Year.
“It's always nice when your peers recognize the work that you and the entire front office have done, I see this as an organizational award," Beane said by phone Thursday.
Later Tigers’ general manager Dave Dombrowski said, “No one was picking them to have the kind of year they had, but Billy and his staff put together a tremendous club, They did about as good a job as you could."
A’s manager Bob Melvin also said, "Billy had an amazing year, He nailed it the whole year."
Arizona general manager Kevin Towers praised Beane and said, "Being able to build a team like that is impressive, You don't do what they did without being great at your job and only people like Billy can pull that off."
This is itself a great honour for Beane who has been applying this unique method for past several years.
His extraordinary push and day-night planning for the betterment of the side, has brought him in the limelight.
Experts believe that this is his love for the A’s and self-belief as he achieved so much in so little time.
A’s new signings, with low salary cap and with less resources, never put him in any difficult position in the past season instead, he pushed hard his entire managerial team as well the players to achieve driven success.
