A 4th of July party?

I need some ideas for my 4th of July party I'm having this year. Activities, music, food, and decorations...any ideas you have to offer would be very appreciated! =]

Here are some of the party details that I know so far:

It's going to be on the lake so there will be swimming, tubing, that kind of stuff. Hopefully our hot tub will be fixed by then. We are going to have a bbq and get a patriotic decorated cake from the bakery. We will have fireworks...and of course I'm going to decorate with red white and blue and lots of flags. Most of the people there will be around 18-22. Thanks!

Forget the cake from the bakery. Homemade is always much more appreciated....and enjoyed. Bakeries always have that weird taste to their icing.

Best fourth cake recipe:

one box yellow cake mix

two soft bananas

mix and bake

topping:

vanilla pudding (well chilled)

bananas, blueberries, and strawberries decorated into a flag on the cake.

Yummmmmyyyy. I make it every year, and people love it!!

We also did a pudding pie eating contest. That was fun.

make some red white and blue jello shots

hot dogs and burgers are always good for 4th of July parties

music- just play the radio or a good mix of top songs past and present- turn it up a bit loud- always makes the party more fun cuz people have to talk louder

maybe some type of relay races for teams of people to do! have kids tricycles race as part of it, hula hooping, jump rope, blowing bubbles, carry someone in a wheelbarrow, swimming can be in there too- just find a bunch of fun activities to put into the race and have it all set up in an obstacle course in your yard. have some type of awards or prizes for the winners.

frozen t-shirt game- teams have to unthaw and put on a frozen shirt not using their hands! maybe you can pick up some cheap red white and blue shirts form walmart or Kohls always has those ones for $5

hang up a bunch of Christmas lights outside- hang them everywhere! if you don't have lots, borrow them from friends and family. looks real pretty at night like stars all over!
