  1. that is crazy..this is crazy too.. a couple years ago i went to the mall of america for a family vacation and there was this girl there breastfeeding her child and the child was like 8 or 9....

  2. What does a kid in a stroller have to do with being homeschooled? Nothing. While I agree, a healthy child at 7 in a stroller is odd and not acceptable when they are able to walk, it doesn't make it so because they happen to be homeschooled.

I'd personally mind your own business and not worry so much about why they home school or keep their kids.  If they bug you so much then don't involve yourself with them other than a hello in the yard to be polite.  No one said you have to like them, be their buddy or even do what they do educationally.  Maybe they think you're kids are hoodlums because they go to public school.  Be careful of that one because things always have another way of looking at it from the other side.

  3. ok well they JUST moved in. maybe there 7 year old has a medical problem. im sure these people havent told you thier whole life story yet so go about your own business.

  4. Is the 7 year old sick, not feeling well..please dont be too quick to judge someone when you dont know the circumstances. You might be surprised by the research behind the benefits of homeschooling. Yes, it is weird that a parent would want to homeschool, because the norm is to send them off to public school where they will learn to be disrespectful and argumentative. It's weird that a parent would want to take time out of their busy and hectic life to train their child in the way they would want them to be raised and give them the best education possible. It's weird, yes, because most parents dont take the time and effort to do whats best for their child, they just do what everyone else is doing because its easier.

  5. I don't think anything of it and neither should you, really. There are many other things to worry about or concern ourselves with besides how old a child is who rides in a stroller. And as for the homeschooling comment- its only weird to those who know nothing about it...

  6. NEXT THING YOU KNOW THEY WILL BE WIPING HIS OLE NASTY STINKY BUNGHOLE BY THE TIME HE'S 20.

  7. home schooled kids aren't always weird, but I guess since he doesn't get a lot of interaction with other kids his age he doesn't know that by 7 you shouldn't be in a stroller.

  8. i think that's ridiculous, they must want their children to grow up and be lazy

  9. I don't think the homeschooling things is weird, and I can kind of understand why a lot of parents do it.  A 7 year old in a stroller, that is bad.  I honestly never seen a 7 year old that could fit in one.  These people sound weird.

  10. Before I had autistic children and I saw a much older child doing something that is much younger it never occurred to me as weird, ridiculous or what have you.  I immediately thought that something is different and the person is special needs.  It is really sad that there is so much judgement without knowing the whole story.  Yes, many special needs children are homeschooled because the parents feel that the childs needs are not being met.  FYI-autistic children look very normal, good looking, recessive eyecolor, usually a boy, large head, usually slim, usually shorter.  Try talking to him, you will know very quickly if it is autism because he won't look you in the eye, answer questions appropriately, or be anywhere near age appropriate, and he may not be verbal either.

  11. The kid could just be playing.  I wouldn't be alarmed, unless you saw him being pushed in it daily.  Even if that was the case, he may have a disability which you're unaware of.

  12. not to be rude or anything, but how do you know that he is not sick or anything? did they say "hi...he's fine...he is just too lazy to walk." there are disabilities that are not apparent the first meeting with someone. Maybe the child has a muscle wasting disease like muscular dystrophy and they are waiting for the wheelchair to be delivered, or it is in the shop?maybe the child is recovering from an injury and is not supposed to put much weight on his legs for a while. Lots of parents home school thier kids. My mother is home schooling my nephew because he had health problems and the regular school was giving her c**p about him being out to recover.

I really doubt that the parents would put up with severe regression in a 7 year old. My daughter is 8 and I yell at her if she tries to sit in my 3 year old's stroller. HE only uses it when he is asleep or when we are going to be walking a lot like at the zoo or the fair (plus it carries the diaper bag and things like that).

  13. I think 7 year olds should walk. No questions asked. Parents like that are causing the childhood obesity epidemic.

  14. Haha, That's ******.

  15. I would say it's none of your business.  Perhaps the 7 year old has a mental disability.  Since you couldn't possibly know his health record you couldn't possibly know that he is "normal" or that he is not sick.  What I think of it, I think you're a terribly nosy neighbor.  You don't have the right to know your neighbor's business, it doesn't concern you butt out.

  16. Weirdos and probably dumb i mean DUM

  17. its creepy.. kids should be out of strollers way before 7.. that kid is probably gonna be watching nickelodeon until they're 42..

  18. What was he doing in the stroller?  Was he possibly just -playing- in the stroller perhaps?  Sitting in it just to see if he could?  I don't understand why you care so much.  Sounds like a severe regression?  Do you even realize what you sound like?  Someone trying to play mental doctor, acting like you know things.  Home schooling isn't weird.  So far you have called your neighbours goofy, say homeschooling is weird and have already diagnosed a child as "severely regressed" even though I doubt you have any idea what it really means, you seem to be the one that has the problem.

  19. There are diseases in which the child can look "completely normal" otherwise, yet not have the ability for leg use function.

Regression is not limited to just sitting in a stroller. My 7 yr old likes to sit in the baby's stroller every now and then, just because, and I promise you, she's not in "regression" of any shape or form. She is pretty much mature.

  20. i hate when i see children that old in strollers! its crazy they are way capable of walking and should be. where is their independence??

  21. It's most likely not severe regression.  Most likely, it's parental coddling.  Jr. says, "But I don't want to walk, I want to ride."  Parents say ok and do it.  IMHO, the parents need to grow a backbone and make the kid walk.

And homeschooling is NOT weird at all.  Many of us parents would rather not ship our kids off to schools that are failing to prepare them for real life, as well as indoctrinating them with their own agendas.

  22. sounds like your judging when you just met them and you dont know the whole story. and even if it there was nothing wrong with the child then its really none of your concern since he is homeschooled and wont be attending school with your children

  23. Unless they are harming their children mind your own business.

  24. That is kind of weird, but lets give them the benefit of the doubt. Mabey the kid was bored, and asked the parents if he could ride. Consider it a one-time deal for fun, but if you see them doing it again, then go ahead and think of them as weird.

  25. I think any seven year who is capable of walking, unless it's dangerous to them or something of the like, should be doing so. That's just ridiculous! But good thing he is home schooled, because he would have a hard time getting to and from classes.
