The former Rossoneri shot-stopper backs http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 to dismantle the Arsenal defence, but predicting a tough match
Former A.C Milan goalkeeper, Massimo Taibi, is anticipating a tight game between his former employers and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, and brands Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the key player.
The Italian Champions will take on the Premier League side in first of the two-legged last 16 round game at San Siro on Wednesday, 15 February 2012. The game is considered as one of the most anticipated fixtures of the first knockout
round.
Taibi believes that Ibrahimovic will have a major impact in the result of the match, as the Swede will be against a vulnerable Arsenal defence. The former Manchester United star insists that Arsene Wenger will be worried with Milan’s
strike force.
While talking to goal.com, Massimo Taibi said,
"If it is Ibra’s [Zlatan Ibrahimovic] day and he plays as we know he can, he could cause a crisis in the Arsenal defence. This department is, in fact, the weak point of [Arsene] Wenger's team and I think Arsenal must fear the attack
of Milan - rather than vice versa, despite the extraordinary form of [Robin] Van Persie.”
However, the former shot-stopper insists that there is not much to choose between the two sides, as they are equally matched and have a 50-50 chance of winning it. He believes that the Gunners’ European form has been different
to their Premier League form, and they can beat any opposition on their day.
"There’s a 50 per cent chance of progressing for both sides, who at the moment are more or less equal. Arsenal have always played well in the Champions League, while in the league they have had some difficulties.”
The 41-year-old believes that the result of the first-leg will be extremely important in predicting the outcome of the fixture. The return leg will be played at the Emirates Stadium on March 6, 2012.
Taibi had two stints with the Rossoneri, but could not prolong his stay at the club. He went onto two make only 17 appearances for A.C Milan before being offloaded to Venezia in 1998.
