A.C Milan defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Nesta-c4735 has no plans to retire from football: Serie A news
A.C Milan defender, Alessandro Nesta, has admitted that he has no intentions of retiring and feels that he still has enough legs to continue playing for the club.
Nesta is widely known as one of the best defenders in the modern game and he played a huge role in winning the 2010/11 Serie A title for Milan. The former Italian international only recently signed a one year extension to his Milan
contract and wants to win the UEFA Champions League with the club before hanging his boots.
Nesta wants to follow in the footsteps of Milan and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 legend, Paolo Maldini, who retired at the age of 41. Maldini remains as an example for everyone in the football world, as he did not let his standards drop despite the age.
Nesta is looking forward to the next season and is confident that the Italian Champions will be able to defend their crown.
Talking to the reporters Nesta said, "It is my intention to retire as late as possible and in a decent manner.
Let’s take it one step at a time. We’ve been training for just a week and people are already talking about the future.”
"I’ll continue to give everything as I always have. If I no longer had the motivation to play then I would have quit, but I still have a great amount of desire. I’m at the coach’s disposal and I’ll look to give my contribution
to the team."
Nesta’s partnership with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903 in the heart of Milan’s defence makes the Rossoneri a threatening force not only in the Italian football but also in European competitions. The veteran star made 32 appearances in all competitions
in the 2010/11 season and proved to the world that he has still plenty left to offer.
The 35-year-old joined Milan from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 in 2002 and since then, he has made 296 appearances. The defender has also been part of two Serie A and Champions League and a Coppa Italia winning team. The Italian was also an integral
part of the 2006 FIFA World Cup winning squad.
