A.C Milan defender Philippe Mexes eagerly waiting for the new season to begin: Serie A news
New A.C Milan defender, Philippe Mexes, is eagerly looking forward to play for his new team in the next season.
Mexes joined the Rossoneri on a free transfer after his A.S Roma contract expired at the end of the last season. The French international spent almost seven years at the Stadio Olimpico Rome and made more than 200 appearances for the club.
Despite the fact that he is in rehabilitation from a knee surgery, the 29-year-old is delighted to join the Italian Champions and admitted that he cannot wait for the new season to begin. The defender added that he is feeling much better after the operation and he will be ready by the time the new season starts in almost two months time. The former Auxerre star is delighted with the reception he got from his team-mates when they assembled for the pre season training.
Talking to the reporters Mexes said, “It’s an honour to wear this shirt and I hope to recover as soon as possible. I am in pretty good shape and hope to be on the field as soon as possible. I’m happy at Milan and it’s an honour to wear this shirt. I hope to prove what I can do and thank my teammates for the warm welcome.”
“Unfortunately I will need a little time, but I’ll work very hard to recover as quickly as possible. I hope to be up to the standard of my teammates who won the Scudetto last season.”
Milan are looking to strengthen their squad for the next season and have already added few new players to the squad.
