In accordance with recent reports, A.C. Milan’s Vice-President, Adriano Galliani, was at Santiago Bernabeu last night for striking a deal for the Madrid’s defensive duo.
The Spanish press has reported that former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raul-c30652 Albiol, are being keenly pursued by Italian giants A.C. Milan.
The Rossoneri’s Vice-President, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adriano-c3773 Galliani, was believed to be in Madrid for the deal, and was reported by the Spanish press to be spotted in Santiago Bernabeu last night.
Over the past few months Portuguese defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ricardo-Carvalho-c30973 has been carrying his differences with the Madrid mentor Jose Mourinho and it is believed that the manager is not willing to keep the defender at the Bernabeu either.
A.C. Milan have certainly pounced at the situation and are looking to tighten their defensive fragilities by taking Carvalho to San Siro.
Albiol has also moved down the pecking order in Mourinho’s defensive preferences, as young French defender Raphael Varane has been showing a lot of promise.
With the presence of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670 in the squad as well, Albiol has a significant ground to make in order to boast his starting credentials.
Milan have weighed up the prospective in Albiol’s case as well and are looking to make a double swoop in January. It is reported that Madrid are willing to let Albiol leave if they get a fee in the region of 9 million Euros.
Carvalho has his contract with the Spanish champions running in its last year and is free to leave in June when his contract expires.
The pairing of the centre-backs could be a perfect fit for the Milanese club as they have recently been struggling in this new season.
Milan have been encountering a lot of problems of late in the new season, due to the shock summer departure of Brazilian defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 to P.S.G.
The Milan defence has been criticized for their current abysmal 12th league position, and has shipped in 16 goals in the 12 league games that they have played so far.
With the arrival of two experienced defenders in the shape of Albiol and Carvalho, Milan’s Vice-President believes that the Rossoneri might bring their season back on track after the winter transfer shopping.
