A.C Milan have signed Alberto Aquilani, confirms Adriano Galliani: Serie A news
Vice-President, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alberto-Aquilani-c4313, on a season long loan deal with an option to buy.
The Rossoneri were linked with the Italian international for the past few weeks and have worked out an initial loan deal and will be forced to buy him for a fee in the region of 6-million-Euros should he feature in 20 league games.
Galliani confirmed that this was the last piece of business in the transfer market for Milan and they will make no further moves this summer.
Talking to the reporters Galliani said, “We’ve signed a player with great quality. He’s the right man for Milan. Our transfer market campaign has now come to a close.”
The Italian Champions were heavily linked with a move for a top quality midfielder termed Mister X by the Vice-President and it suggests that Aquilani was their target. The Rossoneri have been linked with several names throughout
the summer and Marek Hamsik, Ganso, Cesc Fabregas and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Riccardo-Montolivo-c31049 all were linked with a move to San Siro.
Lack of transfer funds forced Milan to move for the former A.S Roma midfielder and club President, claimed in an interview recently that Aquilani has all the quality to fill in the boots of Andrea Pirlo, who left the Milan to join
Juventus earlier this summer.
Aquilani emerged from the youth setup of A.S http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 for approximately 17-million-Euros in 2009. The midfielder struggled with injuries and
form in his debut campaign and could not establish himself as a first-team regular in the Reds team. Due to managerial changes at the club, he was loaned out to Juventus last summer and had a decent 2010/11 campaign with the Turin giants.
Reports in the media suggest that Milan might sign one more midfielder before the close of the transfer window and Montolivo tops the list of their targets. The Fiorentina man is in the last year of his contract at the Viola outfit
and might be available in a cut-price deal.
