The Rossoneri boss rues the missed opportunities, and blasts the Nerazzurri for their defensive approach in Milan derby...
A.C Milan manager, Massimiliano Allegri believes that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan defended throughout the 90 minutes in Derby della Madonnina.
Despite creating the most chances and dominating 67% of the possession, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Milito’s second-half winner dented Milan’s hopes of retaining the top-spot in the league. Inter limped to a 1-0 win at the San Siro on Sunday, January
15th, 2012.
Allegri insisted that his team played really well despite the defensive approach taken by the Nerazzurri. He believes that it was extremely hard for his side to break the wall, as all of Inter’s men were behind defending.
While talking to the reporters, Allegri said,
“If you look at the game, Inter just waited to strike on the counter-attack and played with 10 men behind the ball, so it wasn’t easy for us to find space. We had to score early or face a brick wall.”
The former Cagliari boss hailed hero of the match, Milito, for his game deciding strike in the second-half. The striker took advantage of a huge error from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ignazio-Abate-c16673, and finished a shot into the far corner from a tight angle.
Allegri admitted that the Argentine did well to find the back of the net from a close angle. However, he insists that his team created several decent opportunities to score but they were caught on the counter-attack by the opposition.
The 44-year-old felt bad for Abate, and insists that he made a similar mistake against Milito a couple of years back too.
“Milito did very well, as he only had a tiny corridor to get the ball in and he placed it perfectly. We could’ve scored many times, but instead were caught on the counter-attack. Ignazio Abate also made a similar mistake two years
ago against Milito and I could see in his face that he was heartbroken."
The Rossoneri boss insists that the win will put Inter back in the title race, as they are enjoying a great run of form. The Nerazzurri have registered six straight wins.
