A.C Milan seal Stephan El-Shaarawy signing and offload Alexander Merkel to Genoa: Serie A news

Italian Champions, A.C Milan, have confirmed the signing of Genoa midfielder, Stephan El-Shaarawy, in a deal which sends midfielder, Alexander Merkel, the other way.
El-Shaarawy had agreed personal terms with the club a few days back and has now completed his medical and signed the documents to become a Rossoneri.
Milan confirmed the signing on their website: “AC Milan announce they have bought Stephan El Shaarawy from Genoa in a co-ownership deal and have sold to Genoa, again in a co-ownership agreement, Alexander Merkel,”
El-Shaarawy is widely considered as an ideal replacement for former Milan midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrea-Pirlo-c5702, who recently left the club to join Juventus. The 18-year-old caught the eye of many top European clubs during his loan spell with Serie B side, Padova, in
the 2010/11 season. The Italian U-19 international netted 7 times in 25 appearances throughout the campaign and contributed in setting up several goals too.
El-Shaarawy expressed his delight in joining the Italian Champions and admitted that he is feeling very special to become a Milan player.
El-Shaarawy said, "It was an incredible feeling when I put on the Milan kit for the first time this morning. It will be extra special for me to face Gasperini's http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567, because he was the one who gave me my debut in Serie A in 2008. I want to win the Italian
Super Cup against Inter in the first official match of the season"
Milan manager, Massimiliano Allegri, is a huge admirer of the rookie star and he has full faith in the youngster that he will achieve big things at the club.
On the other hand, the Italian Champions have offloaded midfielder, Merkel, who had a disappointing 2010/11 campaign at the San Siro. The Kazak born managed to make limited appearances in all competitions throughout the campaign and failed to impress his
bosses.
Allegri is looking to build his squad and has already signed Philippe Mexes and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 permanent. The 43-year-old revealed earlier this week that he will dip in
the transfer market to sign a world class midfielder to complete his summer shopping.
