the doc said that he has crystals and pebbles in his urine, but he's not blocked because he has a small bladder. Should I be worried? Btw I had to leave him there for a few hours to be observed.

  1. Don't worry, the vet will probably just prescribe him some meds to break up and dissolve the crystals in his system. He'll be fine before you know it.

  2. Yes, you should be concerned.

  3. Try not to worry, they will likely put him on some antibiotics and get him started on some special formula food.  As for the biting thing, it's just on his record so that they will be careful of him. I've had lots of cats with urinary problems and all of them have lived a long and healthy life. Your kitty will be OK.

  4. i sorry that you have a sick kitty.  but i am sure that he will be fine.  the vet will know exactly what to do to make him better.  he will put your kitty on a low Ph diet, so it doesnt develop these again.  stick to it and your kitty will lead a long happy health life!  hope you both get to feeling better.

  5. You poor thing, I really don't know who to feel worse for right now - You or your kitty.  I understand your concern.  But right now your kitty needs to be where he is.  You are doing the right thing and actually the only thing possible.  There was really no choice.  You love your friend and this was medically needed to help him.  You should feel very relieved that it was discovered now before it became a life threatening emergency in the middle of the night...

Try to see the good and educate yourself on how to help your baby when he comes home.  He should be just fine.  A bit of medication and some dietary changes - some follow up trips to monitor his kidneys with some urine and blood work in a few weeks and every thing should be back to a regular schedule for the two of you  :)

Best of luck and prayers be with you both.

  6. I actually had the same thing happen to my cat.  Its the food doing it. Give him different food. You shouldnt be that worried about it. She wont get blocked.

  7. This sounds serious and I hope your vet will take care of this thing ASAP.
