A Catholic question about the Blessed Mother?

Can non-Christians go to her for help too?

Does the very fact that a non-Christian is asking her for help mean that the Holy Spirit has inspired them to do so?

  1. I would think so.

She wants nothing more for us than to pray for us and show us her Son.

  2. She doesn't "belong" to us.  She is the mother of God.  Of course you can pray to her.

  3. They are probably doing it out of fear or maybe wanting to be accepted by the Catholics in order to have friends I would guess.  Either that or blindly searching for the truth.

  4. Yes, I know people of all religions who are attracted to Mary and she has often lead them to Christ

If it leads to Christ and faith, hope and love then it was the Holy Spirit.

  5. Mary is the mother to the whole world. The fact that someone would come to her is not necessarily the work of the Holy Spirit, but it could be.

  6. Yep why not.

  7. <<A Catholic question about the Blessed Mother? Can non-Christians go to her for help too?>>

    Yes.

<<Does the very fact that a non-Christian is asking her for help mean that the Holy Spirit has inspired them to do so?>>

Possibly. Most non-Catholic Christians do not recognize Mother Mary for who she really is. I don't mean that in an anti-Catholic sort of way. I simply mean the "neutral" ones.

So, when a neutral non-Catholic Christian feels compelled to ask Mary to Intercede for her - something significant (and very Catholic) is indeed being revealed to that non-Catholic Christian.

It's reasonable to assume this inspiration is coming from the Holy Spirit.

  8. She is everyone's spiritual mother.

Here are a couple websites to help understand more about Mary.

  9. That's an interesting question. Not that I would have the gall to do that, but definately an interestig question.

    BTW 2 points appreciated

  10. Yes they can, but a small donation to the Vatican will be appreciated.

  11. i don't see why not

  12. Absolutely! Anyone can ask the Blessed Mother for help. Jesus gave her to all of us, she is our spiritual mother.

  13. Yup.

I know of Non- Christians ( eg. Hindus ) who often seek her help especially when they need healing in body or financial aid...

There is this popular church in my country known as the Novena Church, it is very popular for the miracles by the intercession of the Blessed Mother and St Joseph. I have seen and heard of Non- Christians who actually come back after their petitions have been answered to place flowers for Her.

Another inspiring thing is a non-catholic ( whom I know)...he is actually a protestant... seeked her help and he too got his prayers answered. He actually wrote a gratitude letter to the church's web.

ANYONE CAN ASK HER HELP. WE LIKE CHRIST ARE LIKE HER CHILDREN. A caring mother that SHE is... she will never let anyone go without helping them.

Even my parents who are Hindus... always have a huge respect for her. Whenever, my dad visits India...he always goes to the famous Our lady of Good Health church to pay his respects.

  14. Mary is given to all of us whether we know it or not. She is our spiritual Mother given to us by Her Son Jesus and She welcomes all who asks Her for help. I have known many many people through the years who are believers and non-believers who say Her beads (Rosary) and as far as I know they still do. She embraces all Her children. So go for it you have nothing to loose and everything to gain. I'm sure the Holy Ghost has had something to do with it but, May be you just like the Idea of telling a true Mother of your troubles, and She'll listen. What better person to ask but His Mother, and He won't say NO to Her. God bless you.

  15. Anyone can go to the Blessed Mother. She's not only the Mother of Catholics.

As Jesus is our Brother and God is our Father, Mary, the Mother of God is also our Mother.

And yes, I'd say someone who is a non-Christian would mean the Holy Spirit has inspired them to do so.

I know that my grandmother's sister-in-law is a Buddhist and when my grandmother pointed out to her Mary in our church, Sue (the sister-in-law) said "I know her, she comes to me in my dreams sometimes".

So yes, I'd certainly say that the Holy Spirit is inspiring them to do so, as well as Mary, and that it is perfectly okay for you to pray to Mary.

And no, praying to Mary and the Saints is not unBiblical.

  16. Jesus said the only way to his Father, God was through him.  He never said to go to Mary.  Please tell me where in the Bible she is to be worshiped or people should go to her to talk to God?  You will not find it because that is not what God wanted.
