Like i want to make one a wamu or back of america.

But i want to know what i need to start one?

and how to keep one going?

and any other things i may need to know

Are you talking about a saving account that you'll use while in college or an account where you can save money tax free to eventually pay for college?

The best thing for you to do is to just go to a bank and speak with their reps.  They will be able to help you with either one.  Make sure you bring two forms of ID, at least one with your picture on it.

Saving account usually have minimum amount requirement, $500-$1000 to open an account.  You also want to check around for interest rate.  Although interest rates are fairly low, you can still find some that are paying at least the rate of inflation.  You may also consider internet bank, who usually pay higher interest rate.  Check out bankrates.com
