A Couple Questions about NYC and Lady Liberty?

I have a couple questions.

1. I'm leaving from New Jersey and I want to know how long it will take on the ferry.

2. When I buy a ticket can I go to the statue and then to NYC and back to NJ

The only ferry that goes to the statue of liberty leaves from lower Manhattan at battery park and costs $17. The boat leaves and returns to the same spot.  It is a short trip, but you will need time to explore the Islands

A Ferry also leaves form Liberty state park in Liberty View NJ.

I don't think it goes over into NYC though
