The article above discuss the 50/50 chance of the north pole completely melting this yr?

that's 10 feet of water if that happens automatically. artic fluctuates but never in history has it melted.

Will more then half of Florida be covered in water in 30 yrs or less, Imagine all those people, where would they go, and how much money would the government lose in property? and on top of that how much money will they lose to relocating the people....Imagine the taxes nation wide to rebuild or relocate people. now with the economy the way it is...do u Think it will send America further into dept? will they do a rebuild period or build a wall around certain parts of Florida?

it will cause a great depression with the relocation, so many American business will go under for FL and some National because INSURANCE company's wont have enough money to help.

fl under 20 ft of water.

  1. Sea ice has little effect on seawater levels, in fact if all of the sea ice was liquid water, the sea level would actually drop slightly, ice has a much greater volume than water.

As for sea levels rising, that only occurs when .............

1.... The temperature of the oceans increases, warmer water has a much greater volume than cold water.

2.... Land based 'fresh water ice' melts such as glaciers, Greenland icecap and the Antarctic icecap (not the sea ice surrounding it).

As for the North Pole ice sheet never having melted completely before, I think that is a myth, the average temperature rise to cause that is very small, much smaller that the rise required to melt land ice.

  2. There something You fail to understand here; Arctic ice is NOT Grounded! It's floating across the North Pole... So when it melts- there will be NO appreciable increase in the sea level in the Oceans around it. It's kind of like when an ice cube is floating in your drink. The displacement of the water by the ice- will keep the water level the SAME- even if all the ice melts. ... It's the SOUTH POLE's ice melting we need to be concerned about- because THAT ice IS on land, and once it melts & runs off into the Oceans -THEN we're gonna have problems!!!  :0

  3. All I can say about where is Alaska, Montana, and Wyoming. Yeah it'll cost a fortune, but I figure if the government wasn't spending the $$ on that, they'd be spending it on something else...at least this would be legitimate!:)

What about all the wildlife? Where would they go? And how would it affect wildlife in the rest of the country?

We have tested Mother Nature to her very limits and our planet is changing drastically anyway. I think in this generation we will see results, very costly results, of that. Yes many companies will go under and if there is not a depression, it will be darn close to it. We will all have to learn to do with less and learn a different lifestyle for the simple fact that many things in the very near future around the globe are not even remotely controllable by humans. Politicians will be forced to start making policy to accomodate the changes. It will be interesting to see what the remedies are as they are brought to the table.

  4. We can rely on FEMA....
