  1. Will he be good? Depends on what you define as good.

What I can tell you is that he will make the other receivers better for the simple fact that teams will be afraid of him. He will demand double-teams at almost all times, and that will free up a receiver.

I'm just worried that if he plays too much on offense his KR/PR numbers will go down.

  2. There are tons of WR-related performance incentives in his new contract. Basically, if he puts up numbers comprable to that of a team's #1WR over the next 3-4 years his contract can double. He wouldn't have signed off an incentive-based contract if he didn't KNOW he would be playing a lot of wide out this year. So... given the opportunity, and with a lot on the line, yeah, I'd say he's gonna have a d**n good year receiving.

  3. No, because the Bears are casting him as a #1 WR, so he'll see opposing teams' #1 CBs every week.  I think the statistics he'll put up will be pathetic.  I'm predicting 500 receiving yards and 3 receiving TDs.  He has the physical skills to be one of the best WRs in NFL history, but all the evidence suggests that he just isn't smart enough to learn the position, which is saying something, since morons like Chad Johnson, Randy Moss, Steve Smith, and Terrell Owens are really good at it.

  4. yeah hes already proven to be good when he did go in at wide out for those plays that he did. so to answer your Q yes.

  5. Not if he's the 1st option he will be good at slot  wide out.

  6. I think he will make plays no matter where you put him on the field.....and im not even a bears fan.

  7. Hester is an exciting player and there will be games where he makes some fantastic plays.

That said, I don't think he's meant to be a No. 1 receiver, and that is what he's almost destined to be simply because the Bears have nobody else on the roster worthy of being the top receiver on the team.

My concern with that is he's not a big guy and he hasn't spent that much time playing receiver, so he's not a polished route runner. He's more a deep threat than anything.

The other thing that could hurt the Bears out of this is the possibility that playing too much wide receiver could diminish him as a threat as a return man by getting him beat up. It's happened with guys like Dante Hall in the past.

    Just my thoughts.

  8. I really think that he can be very effective as a slot WR in the same way that the Patriots use Wes Welker or how the Saints occasionally use Reggie Bush.  Hester is a threat whenever he has the ball....now the Bears just need to find more ways to get him the ball!

  9. i think he may have a couple big plays like 5 td couple long plays but if they keep him at retrun he will get his 10 retrun TD

  10. no but he'll be swt at returner.  even though cribbs will be better
