A: Drive Error(before boot up), How to resolve

Whenever i start my computer, i get an error called " A:Drive Error, Press F1 to resume" but then after i press F1 it starts to boot up, but i want to get rid of this, what can i do, all these happens before XP boots up, and i think my A drive was the floppy drive, which is not connected any more. Please help me!

  1. go into bios @ bootup

    press "del" or "f2" to enter ur bios or what ever key it prompts

    u to press in the first screen on startup / bootup !!!

    then in device tab or hardware or what ever it is ( usually the first tab showing )

    disable floppy drive ~~~> drive a:

    by pressing - or + keys !!!

  2. You would have to go into your computer and disable the floppy drive.  There will be a setting (or more than one) where you can tell the computer that there isn't a floppy drive any more.

    Typically, where you see the type of Floppy referenced.. like a 1.44mb drive, you can change that setting to NONE.
