Last year something attacked my cats paw during the day and it was bleeding horendosly that he has to go to the vet and stayed until the stopped it from bleeding.....Now we have had eggs dissapear from our chicken coop. Yesterday I fed the chickens and counted them to make sure none has been attacked by anything...Well today I found 3 dead chickens in my barn....Well two and the other was barly alive when I got in and I walkked over and It died. Their necks were chewed through and I noticed a medium sized hole in the wall. I got out of the coop and looked at the hole there was brown hair around it. I patched up all the holes with woord and chicken wire. I also saw a weasel like thing in my yard Last Saturday Evening.

  1. to te above person, i can't see it being dangerous to be a person walking around at night with a fisher around. Unless you tried to attack it or something.

  2. Weasels will kill chickens, one got my rooster. They usually bite them on or around the head and then suck there blood.

  3. Oh man!  Fishers are mean little suckers.  I'd rather deal with a wolf than a fisher.  Be careful and do your best to put some metal sheeting up the chicken coup so it will have a harder time to get in.

I am very sorry you've been though this.  The fisher was just getting dinner but they are not laser like hunters, they do tend to go wild and slaughter many.  Be very careful.  Don't go out there at night by yourself.  That goes for your pets too.  :-(

  4. A fisher is bigger than a weasel. If you saw a weasel like thing, it was probably a weasel. They'll kill chickens, too.
