  3. Some games I played as a child. Outdoor games that didn't require much. Let's see Giant steps where you would listen to the command of Mother. she/he would say Take one giant step you are supposed to ask Mother may I? and if she said yes then you took one if she changed her mind and said no take a baby step instead you still needed to ask mother may I when she finally said yes then you took the step. You had to listen and always wait for the final yes.

Another game I used to play is color tag. I wasn't very good at tag because I have flat feet and I can't run well. However, I never minded being it for color tag because you got to hold the beachball. The players who aren't it each pick secretly their color on the beachball. The It person throws up the beachball and catches it. Whatever color faces her when it comes down, she calls that color aloud and the other person starts running and the It person tags him/her and if she tags them they become it.

  4. My two favorite board games.....Wide World and Careers. Don't see them around anymore :-(

  5. i used to play CANDYLAND

    i played it when i was a kid/little girl.

i used to play with  a couple friends, with my brother but then we end up fighting. good thing my brother fights & acts like a girl sometimes...

you were supposed to reach the castle =)

  6. Library with my grandfather. I was the librarian in a department store named Ms. Carecorn and used my grandfather's books for checkout.

As a three year old, I thought department stores needed libraries.

As an adult, I worked as a Preschool librarian for a brief time.

  7. we played red rover red rover  it was just the kids around the area we gathered on a frozen pond and ice skated the game. it was 2 lines of kids holding hands and facing each other. one  line would yell " red rover red rover send ..... right over." if they called your name you skated as fast as you could in to the arms of the other line and tried to break thru. if you broke thru you took some one back to your side....if you didn't , you stayed. who ever had the most kids in a line by the time frost bite set in or your mom called you home  won the came.  and that is winter in a small minnesota farm town  30yrs ago.

  8. spin the bottle.

  9. My favorite involving not props - tag, of course.

My favorite involving props - pick up sticks.

My sister and I would play it on the cold wooden floors of our house, where it was flat and stable. We would pick up a game whenever we were in the mood, our grandmother taught us how to play (as she was grown playing it on her stoop in her birth town) but we got the tin that held the sticks randomly some day. The game came bundled with old multicolored wooden sticks, and a game of jacks.

We played by traditional rules, staying as close to the ground as possible for the safest manoeuvre and making sure we caught sight of any shaking sticks. It got intense. Neither of us cheated.

  10. I had the game score 4. It was a three dimentional game that you needed to place 4 of your pieces in a row. I played it with my brothers amd sister. One at a time.

  11. Chutes and Ladders. :)

  12. 1.  Hide and seek with my siblings and some neighbor kids.

    2.  Red Rover with friends at school during recess.  Classes would take on other classes.  It was great fun when younger classes beat the older ones!

    3.  Dodge Ball on the play ground.

    4.  Pick up Softball games.  We spent hours on end playing ball.  To this day when my family gets together in the summer time everyone plays, from the youngest to the oldest.  I'm much slower now (LOL) but no one cares.  It's a great way to spend an afternoon.
