A General question about studying abroad?

I want to go to college in Argentina, UK, Italy, Spain, or France.

My question is do I need to go to an embassy first before applying to the college or apply to the college and then go to the embassy? I mean, what do I do if I am not accepted? What do I do about my random citizenship to a country I wont be going to study? I mean, I dont wanna go to all the embassies and become a citizen of each one, I'll be like, a citizen for like, alot of countries that I possibly will never associate with... So, what y'alls say?

  1. I am currently applying to a University in Costa Rica for a master's program they offer there.  Because all my transcripts and documents are in English, I had to go through a long authentication process so that the University would accept them.  You don't need to apply for a student visa at an embassy until you know for sure if you are going to be attending the university in that specific country.  Wait to hear if you get into the university first and then apply for a student visa.  If you have a passport, you can live in a country as a student for 90 days legally, so during that time when you arrive you can apply for the student visa then.  Check on the wait time with the embassy because some countries may be slower in processing your papers than others.

  2. Definitely apply to the school first. Usually they will help you attain a student Visa. Either way going to the Embassy before wont do any good- you need proof from the school that you will be spending the time abroad studying. In the meantime, if you don't have it already, get a passport. Hope this helps and good luck!
