A Glance at the upcoming third round of Dubuque Classic on Saturday, 27th August
The Dubuque Classic race is a much anticipated race of the year with prize money worth $55,000.
This year the Dubuque Classic was held in the month of August spanning three qualifying rounds and a final.
The first round was held on the night of 13th of August followed by the second round on 20th of August and the third round on the 27th. The final of the Dubuque Classic would be held in the first week of September.
Some of the best racers of the region participated in the Dubuque Classic with 3/8 odds in their favour.
The Dubuque Classic tournament was held at the Dubuque Greyhound Park.
Round 3, that is, the semi final of the Dubuque Classic would be held on Saturday, 27th August.
A total of eight greyhounds are going to be selected for the final in September out of the sixteen participants in the upcoming semi final on Saturday.
Wagers have full faith in two greyhounds that they would emerge victorious in the semi final and qualify for the final. These greyhounds are HL's Tod N Tyler and ‘Chasin The Richs’. Bettors have placed maximum wagers in favour of these two greyhounds.
‘Chasin the Rich’ has been trained by Bob Rider and his performance reflects the hard work that has been invested by the trainer in this greyhound. His owner Mr. Charles De Angelo, Jr. is very excited about the outcome this Saturday as Chasin the Rich might
make him $55,000 richer than he is at the moment.
Tod N Tyler qualified in the first two qualifying rounds in minimal time of 39.66 and 39.95, respectively. This is an out of ordinary performance for a regular greyhound and his trainer Jenny Ortega has made sure that Tod N Tyler establishes his place and
remains way above the league of the other contenders in the Dubuque Classic.
Mr. Green Smith, owner of Tod N Tyler also has high expectations of his treasured greyhound on Saturday and hopefully in the final as well. Hence, Tod N Tyler had high standards to match up to in the upcoming race.
The greyhounds that performed beautifully in the previous round of Dubuque Classic and are expected to perform well in the upcoming semi final are KB's Smokin Jess, WW's Mcbride, Prickly Pooch, Frankly My Girl and Rido's Johney.
Although KB's Smokin Jess is not famous for crossing the finish line in minimal time next to Chasin the Rich and Tod N Tyler, he is still considered the next best dog on the track to claim the title.
Trainer Jenny Ortega and owner William L. Lockhart are both apprehensive and eager about the upcoming race as they do not know which way the wind would blow.
It would be interesting to see that some greyhounds that would not have a substantial number of odd in their favour might end up performing exceedingly well whereas the best considered dogs of the game might turn out poorly. It all depends as to which dog
would have the Lady Luck smiling in his favour on Saturday.
