Question:

A Good Car For A College Student?

by  |  earlier

0 LIKES UnLike

I am a college student who is looking for a new car. I have a job that requires me to travel (but never out of state) and I commute to school everyday. I am looking for something reliable, fuel efficient but not too flashy and I would like to spend between $14,000 - 18,000. I was looking at the Honda Civic, Nissan Versa so far but I am looking for some more suggestions. Any ideas?

  1. I would prefer Honda or Toyota.

I guess you should also check insurance quotes for the car before buying one, for example here: http://carinsurance.enacre.net

Young drivers usually have much higher rates than others. And it depends from car.

  2. i would suggest a Honda Accord,Toyota Camry,or maybe a Chevy impala.they are all mid-full size car's and get decent gas and are reasonably priced!they are all very reliable and safe cars!If you want a compact i would say a Honda fit or civic or maybe a corrola!

  3. Go to myproductadvisor.com, and then to "autos." Enter your criteria to get car recommendations. It came up with some cars I hadn't thought about before.

  4. i would suggest:

    Honda Civic

    Honda Fit

    Toyota Corolla

    Nissan Sentra

    Mazda 3i

    VW rabbit

    VW Jetta

    Ford Focus

  5. Civic, great on gas milage.

  6. you are a student right? so how the heck do you have 14,000 or 18,000 to spend? Man when I was in college I bussed it, car pooled it and worked so I could get by, but spending 14,000 or 18,000 on a vehicle as a student that is ridiculous. Finish your school don't get into debt and then you will enjoy life.

  7. I've got a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am.  It's definitely not too flashy, but it's still a decent looking car.  I've owned it for about a year, get approximately 30 miles per gallon, and haven't had any problems with it.  It's a very reliable car and gets me where I need to be.  Honestly, I'd recommend it to just about anyone.

    Hope this helps!

  8. Honda Fit

    Honda Fit (base) 15,385

    Hyundai Elantra SE 17,945

    Mazda3i Sport (sedan) 17,205

  9. 2008 Hyundai Elantra Limited

    MSRP- 18,000

walked out the door paying little over 13,500

it had 4 miles on it.

Leather seats, heated seats, sunroof, i'm averaging 38 mpg highway

Name any Civic that can do all of that, for that price?

  10. i suggest a honda civic. they have great gas mileage and last forever.

  11. i would suggest a 02 nisson 350z they go for 12000-15000
