  1. Politico.com

    Realclearpolitics.com

Wikipedia.com (But can be edited, and can become biased)

  2. www.realclearpolitics.com &  www.fivethirtyeight.com  are two very good sites that are independent and reliable sources non-partisan and fair.

  3. www.foxnews.com

  4. powerlinenews.com

independent bloggers, they revealed that Walter Cronkite had forged those documents about President Bush's military carrer, very smart people, I enjoy reading them.

  5. www.drudgereport.com

Gives links to world news and is nonpartisan.

  6. http://www.votesmart.org/

    http://www.ontheissues.org/default.htm

are both exactly what you're looking for. Hope that helps

  7. That is hard to say.  I keep seeing http://www.factcheck.org listed as a watchdog group.  I tend to browse the online zines that have political sections.  In case you'd like to take a shot at them:

    http://www.tnr.com

    http://www.prospect.org

    http://www.slate.com

    http://www.salon.com

http://www.lwv.org is the website for the League of Women Voters which used to have the sort of thing you speak of.  Good luck.

  8. I like the Huffington Post but that one is totally one-sided toward Obama... Arianna Huffington is honest about her support for Obama.

I also like NPR and they are not beholden to any candidate or company or PAC... they rely solely on grants from the Government and donations from individuals...

The best thing about NPR and the BBC is that they are very clear about what parts are facts and what parts are "commentary" - not to mention always telling you exactly who the "commentary" is coming from...

NPR and BBC are the way to go...

Also, you can look up voting records of Senators on http://www.Votesmart.org ... And that is very helpful...
