  1. Not sure, so I googled.

    The most famouse is

The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire by Edward Gibbon.

The Collapse of Complex Societies by Tainter

    For historical fiction

All Roads Lead to Murder - Bell, Albert

The Day of the Barbarians: The Battle That Led to the Fall of the Roman Empire," by Alessandro Barbero

Plagues and Peoples by William H. McNeill

  2. the last disciple, and the last sacrifice.

historical fiction, they take place during nero's reign, the first book explains the meaning of the number 666, and you learn about the culture and early history of Christianity. i don't know if there are going to be any more, but the last sacrifice left that a definite possibility.

they are co-written by hank hannegraff and sigmund brouwer.
