A Great Biography/Autobiography?

i'm looking for a biography or autobiography thats great for an 8th grader. and it's appropriate for school. like philosophers, presidents, musicians, artists, celebrities, practically any famous person. i want someone interesting and the book is interesting too. i dont want the book to just state boring facts about the person either. i was thinking about john lennon or winston churchill. suggestions??

    The story of a teenage jewish girl who goes off into hiding during the second world war. A great read and she's really famous.

  2. Maya Angelou's life is fascinating, but not exactly the most G-rated, if that's what your school wants. It doesn't glorify any of these things, but there is sexual abuse, teenage pregnancy, drug use, prostitution. It is nothing graphic, and the way she transcends these obstacles is more inspiring than anything. Check with your teacher.
