A.J. Pierzynski’s triple RBIs help Chicago White Sox defeat Baltimore Orioles 7-6 - MLB Update

Chicago White Sox’ catcher, A.J. Pierzynski had a remarkable day with the bat as he went 2-for-3 with an average of .284 and scored one run including three RBIs in the White Sox 7-6 win against the Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park, Baltimore on August 8.
First inning was under control of the pitchers as they limited the scoring runs of the batters. White Sox batters were unable to take runs at the top of first inning as at left-field Alexei Ramirez flied out and Juan Pierre grounded out and Carlos Quentin
struck-out looking. Similarly, at left-field, the Orioles’ right-fielder Nick Markakis flied out and Adam Jones struck-out.
White Sox batters stepped on the gas to smash four runs during the second inning and got a 4-0 lead. Pierzynski hit a solo homer (410 feet) towards centre-field. The second run for the White Sox was taken by Alex Rios when Adam Dunn singled off left-centre.
Gordon Beckham homered (396 feet) to left-field and Dunn posted the fourth run to end the four-run second inning.
In the third inning, the Orioles scored two runs to curtail their lead 4-2. The Orioles’ third baseman, Josh Bell drove a single-run shot towards centre-field and Matt Wieters added one run. Bell put the second run for the Orioles when Markakis hit a sacrifice
fly to centre-field. The batters failed to raise their team’s lead during the fourth inning.
White Sox starter, John Danks pitched just over six innings and surrendered seven hits, five runs and four earned runs with an ERA of 4.00. He was able to strike-out seven batters on his 85 pitches. Orioles further cut their deficit 4-3 in the fifth inning
by taking one run. J.J. Hardy doubled off deep left-field, Robert Andino posted a single run and Bell moved to third base to end the fifth inning.
Quentin added one run for the White Sox during sixth inning to advance their lead 5-3. Orioles went ahead 6-5 in the seventh inning when Hardy struck a three-run homer (350 feet) to left-field while Wieters and Andino contributed two collective runs. White
Sox posted two runs in eighth inning to go-ahead 7-6.
Brent Lillibridge and Quentin posted two final runs for the White Sox. However, White Sox led off the four-game series 1-0 at Baltimore.
