Question:

A Lefty Needs Advice in Buying a .22LR Rifle in Canada Ontario Windsor-Essex Area!?

I'm getting my license and I am looking to buy a new 22lr rifle. I want a respectable rifle for about 300-600max dollars that will last me a long time and shoot great out of the box.

I am a lefty, although I have decent control with my right hand. I want a bolt-action repeater, even though a pump or lever would be more ambidextrous (I personally prefer the bolt). I might just settle with a righty version or may look into a left version if available.

I've been looking online but most is US and I don't find much Canadian sites. And i dont know whats available in Canada, at what price.

So far the Ive heard of Savage, Ruger, Anschutz (probably too expensive), CZ.

Does anyone have any advice besides just to say go to General Gun? I've heard that they are a pretty crappy place to deal with, although they didnt seem too, too bad. Where and how else can buy a rifle?

Any advice and personal experience will be appreciated!

  1. I don't know what kind of store you have over there but Check out Canadian Gun Nutz.  There are a bunch of links to dealers at the top and people will be able to tell you about diferent guns and dealers.  The bolt action Rugers are pretty nice guns, handled my buddies .22 mag.  I am not sure but if you got the .22LR it might take 10/22 mags.
