Question:

A Legal Steroid?

If an athlete needs muscle power to to perform better and uses steroids to increase his muscle power, then it is deemed as cheating as he is enhancing his bodys own natural attributes to a higher than normal level.

So if one of the main attributes needed for a snooker player, for instance, is to have good eyesight, then shouldnt players wearing glasses be banned as well, because they too are enhancing their bodys own natural attributes in a paticular area that is beneficial to them being successful?

  1. spectacles are equipment like running spikes or that new super swimming costume that is breaking all the records, or the blades of the South african runner Oscar Pistorius.

But it is a nice analogy, lol,  and one I will use if my bespectacled friends ever start beating me.

  2. NO!

Playing pool requires stamina and great 'mind-sight', not muscle bulk or even 20/20 vision.

Most avid to professional pool players, build their stamina and endurance by swimming, walking, practicing, countless hours of play, and good living habits, ie., eating well, sleeping well, etc.

Medications for the eyes that are steroid-based, do not give the player ANY advantage in playing better pool, nor enhance one's vision. Steroid-based eye medications are prescribed to heal eye problems, diseases, allergies, and to restore normal eye function and eye health. Steroid eye medications will not 'better' whatever eyesight you have.

The Steroid eye drops I use, do NOT give me 20/20 vision. The medication helps me to open my eyes (literally), and relieves irritation and heals erosions of the cornea and aids in treating allergies.

Perfect eyesight has NOTHING to do with the ability to "eye the ball" or to line up shots. No matter how clearly the eyes see --- steroids are of no advantage in pool, nor of any advantage for 'how' you need to see,  or 'what' you need to see in a game of pool. Of course we need eyesight to see. But, again -----our eyesight has nothing to do with "seeing" lines, "outs", table-strategy, etc.

Steroids used to "bulk up", have no place or benefit in pool or snooker; as pool is a game of brains .....not brawn!

20/20 vision, is not the key to "seeing" or 'reading' a pool table. Steroids do not enhance nor 'gift' a pool player, the art of mastery and finesse.

Though your question may be thoughtful, I find it utterly nonsensical.

  3. No,eye glasses are not in the same category as steroids.

  4. Athletes that use performance enhancers including steroids or hgh or any other banned substance are doing so to try and get an edge over their opponents. And i agree that with you that this is a form of cheating. But people that wear prescription glasses are just trying to obtain normal vision. Not to gain any edge over their opponents, but just to see as well as they do. Now, if a person had a pair of glasses that could make their vision better than 20-20 you might have a point there.

  6. There is no Legal Steroid.

  7. no legal

  8. think of it this way... you may not be strong enough to lift a car up, but you our strong enough to probally lift up something heavy... Just because your not strong, doesnt mean it will hold back your game.... But with glasses... you dont have any weights you can pick up.... your stuck at square one.... If normal vision people get glasses, its not going to make them start breaking records for home runs or enhancing them.. its just going to let them use something god gave them.... improved vision isnt an advantage over other in sports if everyone else has good vision, BUT steroids are another thing... If we have people who are strong and people who are not as strong... steroids will out match all off them together and will give you the upper hand edge in sports.... But Ive never thought of that question... I like it =)

  9. no you dont get it steroids are illegal  DRUGS that greatly enhance muscle mass and performance, glasses are just merely thin layers of glasses that help people see normally
