Question:

A-Levels! Have They Changed?

by  |  earlier

My mate told me that for us starting college in September, we are going to be doing the new A-levels.

Apparently, instead of doing exams at the end of the 2 years, we do them gradually over the 2 years. Our first exams being in January!

Is this true!?

How does this effect us?

Thanx

  1. I think you'll find that change happened a fair few years ago, with the change to AS and A2.

It means by the end of the first year you'll have completed the AS course, and will have a grade for that. You then go on to study the second half (A2) in the second year.

  2. Some of the exams are now in modules.

    Which is new for 2008.

Actually most of them I think..

I know sciences are deffo, because I'm doing them in Sept.

  3. there are some exams which start on january but depends on what course your taking.

  4. But Michael has it right. AS levels are part of your A-level, so the AS level exams make up the first half of your A-level and you take them in january/summer (mostly summer), Then in your second year you do the other half (known as A2), again you might do a few exams in january but most in summer.
