Question:

A-Levels UK and high school US?

I'm currently doing A-Levels in college (first year) and hope to attend a university in America after completion of them. One thing is though, if by some chance, I managed to mess up my grades overall and they were not good enough to get me into a university, could I retake the year again but in a high school in America, instead of the college I'm currently at in England?

I know it would cost me, seeing as I'm international, but that isn't an issue. I really want to attend university over there (and get there as quick as possible), so staying over here is not an option really.

Thank you.

  1. No it would not be possible for you to re-take them in the States nor would it be possible for you to attend a high-school here since you have already graduated from High School in th U.K.

Too be quite honest, your A-level results mean diddly squat over here in the States. So I wouldn't worry about them too much, just relax and enjoy the life as a college student.

4 year colleges and universities here in the States are not interested in your A-levels what they are concerned about and what they do look for however, is the scores you obtain on either the SAT I or ACT tests - you will need to take this in order to be considered for admission into a U.S. institution. Competative schools will also require you to take the SAT II: Subject tests in addition to either the SAT I or ACT.
