Question:

A Light Brown Neck Rash?

A few years ago I got a brown, blotchy neck rash from a necklace I would wear. I stopped wearing it and the rash went away. A week ago my friend noticed it on my neck, and it's getting bigger.

The first one is light brown and located on the middle of my neck in a horizontal line. The second one forms a T at the bottom of my neck. I haven't worn a necklace in months and I have no idea where it came from or how to stop it...help!

  1. Certain jewelry will do this to me as well.  It all depends on the nickel content within the metal.  If I wear a necklace that contains a lot of nickel (aka cheap) then I get a nice rash that, for me, looks similar to poison ivy.

If you haven't worn the necklace but still have the rash (and it looks the same) it still sounds like an allergic reaction.  It could be that your neck is incredibly sensitive - and the necklace, or a laundry detergent, or something that touches that skin regularly is causing a reaction.

See if a benedryl clears it up.  You can also buy benedryl cream and rub it directly on your neck.  That might work faster.

  2. some jewelry has allergy to skin you have to see your doctor for that.
