Hello. I downloaded WoW and BC clients long time ago and I play on a private server now, but I really want to upgrade to retail. I'm gonna use Pre-Paid GameCards to play the game. But my question is do I need to buy the CDs? because I already have the game installed with the expansion pack, and I thought I'll make a trial account and then upgrade it to a full account using the Pre-Paid GameCard code, does this method work? or are there codes that I need that come with the CDs? Thank you.

  1. No - if you have the clients already, all you need to do is point the clients to the Blizzard servers again instead of a private server. Then connect and patch up, etc. once you activate your account again.

  2. You will either have to Purchase the game from any local business that sells the game (Wal-Mart/Best Buy, etc.) or you can go to the World of Warcraft website (www.worldofwarcraft.com) and upgrade a Trial Account on-line. It will cost the same amount as buying the game from a store but you can do it from home.
