A P O’Brien trying for his third victory at the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes on Saturday by entering six representatives

It is more than evident that A P O’Brien wants Saturday’s Dubai Dewhurst Stakes for himself as he has already sent six entries that will represent him in opposition with ten entries from other trainers.
Hence, on a line-up of total sixteen horses, six are from A P O’Brien team.
If he does get to win this time which might as well be the case as six horses are not less to beat the rest of the ten down then A P O’Brien would have the title to himself for a third time.
It was in 2009 that Beethoven won these Stakes with R L Moore onboard and before this one it was in 2001 that he won the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes for the first time with M J Kinane onboard Rock Of Gibralter.
This time for the Stakes, A P O’Brien has brought in a battalion of talent beginning with Group 1 National Stakes victor Power, Group 2 Beresford Stakes winner David Livingston and Daddy Long Legs, the claimer of Group 2 Juddmonte Royal Stakes at Newmarket’s
Cambridgeshire Meeting on 24th September.
The rest of the contenders include Reply, Nephrite and Tibet to complete the riding possibilities at Newmarket.
Before A P O’Brien’s victory in 2009, it was J S Bolger who had won the title from 2006 to 2008 which means that he had accomplished a hat trick at the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes.
In 2006, it was Teofilo. In 2007, the scorer was New Approach and then in 2008 the victor was Intense Focus.
All of them were ridden to victory by K J Manning.
J S Bolger after winning the Prix I’Opera at Longchamp with Nahrain is all set for another big time victory this season for which he has aimed the unbeaten Ektihaam while another interesting entry in the Stakes is of John Gosden’s who just won the Group
One glory at Longchamp with Elusive Kate and is bringing his Newbury Listed winner Fencing to contest in the race.
Besides these there will be Richard Hannon with two candidates, Bronterre and Group 2 Champagne Stakes champion Trumpet Major and then there would be John Quinn trained Red Duke at the Stakes too.
The remaining entries constitute of Dream Ahead, Lilbourne Lad, Bapak Chinta, Caspar Netscher, Strong Suit and Sri Putra. Not all the entries are definite as yet, some are being considered just as possibilities.
The responsible for six entries might view this race as being simple and easy just due to the sheer amount of his own representation but the competition being presented at the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes is nothing less than challenging.
