I'm a filipina and a permanent resident here in australia 6 months ago.. I want to marry my long time bf in the philippines. What will i do? Do I need to inform the philippine embassy or consulate here before i go home in the phil that I'm planning to change my status? how about my passport, do i need to change it in the phil?

Sorry guyz, i'm confuze .......................................

  1. If you are planning to marry him there and bring him back to Aus, your best bet is to look at the Australian Immigration Laws first..

    There might have been conditions that you became a permanent resident here...

    If you still dont get anything, its better you call them and talk to someone about it.


  2. Well I can help you with part of that. My wife is a filipina and we married in the Philippines. She had to get a new passport under her new name. Whatever you do, DO NOT get rid of your old passport because you will have to get your aussie visa transferred to the new passport. As for the procedures and getting your husband to Australia (if that&#039;s what you want), sorry, maybe somebody else can answer that.
