A PROBLEM WITH SVEDIO CONNETION

I have a Toshiba Satellite model A135-S7403 Laptop AND VISTA IS INSTALLED IN IT and i'm trying to hook it up to my TV and i'm using the S-video cable to connect them together. AND THERE IS NO DISPLAY ON MY LAPTOP, CAN YOU HELP ME ?
